Wrap It Up Bag

I'm heading off for a trip to Europe with my mom soon and I know that plastic shopping bags are not common there. We plan to go shopping at local markets as well as seeing the sights. There are a lot of patterns out there for shopping bags, but I really like this one because it rolls up neatly and fits in a purse, pocket or in the glove box of your vehicle. It's fully lined and I made mine from some cotton fabric I picked up many years ago from a yard sale and lined with some curtain lining that I had left over from another project. Pattern is found at Sew Take A Hike.

Generous size - main bag area is about 15"x16"

Folding handles down in preparation for rolling up.

Fold sides in

Start rolling from bottom of bag.

Fasten the strap - I used snaps, but you could use a button or velcro.

All rolled up and ready to put in your purse.

Happy sewing!
