Guild Friendship Block

Our guild has a tradition that when you have been a member for a year, you get to chose a quilt block pattern and maybe a colour scheme all the other guild members make you a quilt block following those instructions. I joined the Dalemead Quilt Guild ten years ago and when my year was up, I was all ready with a pattern called "Flock of Birds". Here's my quilt made from those lovely blocks:

Last year, I took over the responsibilities of friendship block coordinator for the guild and because we didn't have any new members last year, we are going to be making quilt blocks for our annual charity quilt day. The quilt pattern I chose for the month of September is a double four-patch. A great tutorial can be downloaded from www.MaryQuilts.com.

We're doing 2 colour versions - both scrappy - one in blues and one in autumn colours. Here's my blocks and as I collect more from other quilt guild members, I'll put them up on the design wall and show you how they look.

If you're a part of a guild, what is your favourite guild activity?
