Magic Tiles Quilt

Sometimes, I just want to go back and remake a quilt I've done before and this is one of those times. I had a bundle of muted green and blue cottons that I had made a few things from already, but there was enough left to make a lap quilt.
I added a fabric for the sashing and then purchased a cotton backing and then sent it off for quilting. A pretty floral design for texture and a quick finish.
This is a nice light weight lap quilt - and will get softer with use and the magic tiles pattern shows the fabrics off so well.

I've long admired this patter by Patti Carey of Patti's Patchwork. It's called Misty Pines and the thing I love about it is the shades of fabric and that it reminds me of the mountains and trees that feel like home.
At first it was challenging to keep the fabrics straight as I normally cut as I go, but for this quilt, I cut everything up front like the pattern said.
I did adjust the pattern a little to make the quilt longer. The pattern was for a lap size or queen size and nothing for a long twin size.
The teen grandson that was looking for a longer quilt was very happy with the end result.
The pine tree quilting by Marie of Blueberry Hill Quilts adds so much texture to the finished quilt.
And looks pretty sharp on the Minky back too!
